Shears are available
for front and tail end cropping, cobble cutting, dividing, sampling
and trimming functions. Shears have been supplied to cut sections
as large as 160 mm square as well as sections at speeds close to
100 m/s. The Morgan High Speed Trim Shear automatically trims and
chops both un-cooled and out-of-tolerance rings from the front and
tail ends of the finished rod prior to coiling. The design speed
of the High Speed Shear is 120 m/s with the capability to trim and
chop sizes ranging from 5.0 mm to 25.0 mm in either soft or hard
material grades.
