The HM lock is a fully hydraulic double acting locking system, designed to be easily retrofittable to mills having existing QC locks. No modifications are required to existing hardware. The Hydraulic Mount provides extremely easy and accurate mounting combined with chock removal. The lock is operated by an external hydraulic power pack.
The HM lock stays with the chock when the roll is dismounted for grinding. Prior to mounting, the locking arms pivot into the existing groove at the end of the roll. To mount the bearing, the mounting port is pressurized and the mechanical lock ring tightened. The locking segment is inserted, secured and then the hydraulic pressure is removed.
Removal is accomplished by reversing the procedure. The locking segment is removed, the mounting port is pressurized and the mechanical lock ring is loosened. The dismount port is then pressurized and the chock and bearing are pushed off the roll. The dismount pressure is then removed, the locking arms are opened and the chock is removed from the roll.
This is an excellent lock to use when grinding rolls in chocks since it consistently holds the bearing in its proper position. |
