In response to Chinese market demands for higher quality products, the Jiangsu Jiang Run Copper Co., Ltd. of Yixing, People’s Republic of China has ordered an SCR 7000 system for its copper rod mill.

Morgan Starts Up Russian Copper Rod Mill

Zao Kyshtym Electrolytic Copper Plant of Ekaterinburg, Russia, has started up a single-strand copper rod mill supplied by Morgan Construction Company. This is the second SCR system purchased by Russian Copper Company, the parent company of Kyshtym. The first system is operated by NMZ at Velíky Novgorod, Russia.

Leads Consortium for Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Project

To meet increased demand for steel in the local market, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) has awarded Morgan Construction Company a multi-million dollar contract to build a complete two-strand wire rod mill in Visakhapatnan, in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. The government-owned mill will produce 600,000 metric tonnes of special quality wire rod, ranging from 5.5mm to 20mm in diameter, for the automobile, fasteners and wire drawing industries, among others.

Seeking greater capacity and a more modern mill design, Smorgon Steel, now part of OneSteel in Melbourne, has contracted with Morgan Construction Company to upgrade both its bar mill and rod mill at their North Laverton facility in Australia.

MORGAN PROVIDES NOVEL COIL PROCESS FOR CZECH ROD MILL

Morgan Construction Company has been awarded a contract for a rod outlet to be added to an existing bar mill from the Tsingshan Holding Group Shanghai International Trading Company, Ltd. of Shanghai, People’s Republic of China. The new outlet will be installed at Tsingshan’s Zhejing Ruipu Machinery Co., Ltd. facility in Qiangtian City, Zhejiang Province.

MORGOIL® KLX™ Bearings Sold to Indian Mill

Two sets of MORGOIL KLX bearings will be installed in a new plate mill built by Delhi-based Jindal Steel and Power, Ltd. in Raigarh, India. Provided by Morgan Construction Company’s MORGOIL division in Worcester, Mass., USA, the bearings will be installed in a new plate mill supplied by Siemens-VAI.

MORGAN WIRE LINE TO BOOST POLISH STEEL PRODUCTION

Morgan Construction Company will build and install a new wire rolling line to an existing bar and wire rod mill for CMC Zawiercie, the Polish subsidiary of U.S. company Commercial Metals Company. The two companies signed the agreement in late December. The long product mill is located in Zawiercie, Poland.
