Mexican Mill Orders Compactor from Morgan
Worcester, Mass., USA, July 19, 2005
Morgan Construction Company has received a contract
from Siderúrgica Lázaro Cárdenas - Las Truchas,
S.A. de C.V (SICARTSA) in Lázaro Cárdenas, Mexico,
for a new compactor and coil handling system.
According to Neil Gow, Sales Manager, “The
new equipment, which will be added to its existing unit, will be
installed as an upgrade to the mill’s four-strand mill. Originally
built and installed by Morgan in the mid-1970s, the mill has since
undergone several modifications, the latest of which was a major
modernization to all of its strands, completed in 1999.”
Currently Sicartsa produces 1800 kg coils at a rate
in excess of 200 tons per hour. Installation of the new equipment
is scheduled for May 2006.
Initially designed by Morgan in 1999, the new compactor
offers the latest technology, including the company's new wire binding
system.
Morgan Construction Company is a designer and producer
of high-quality rolling mill products and services for the metal
industry worldwide.
