Morgan Commissions Cascade Mill Upgrade
WORCESTER, Mass., December 17, 2002
Morgan Construction Company of Worcester, has successfully
commissioned the upgrade it recently installed to the existing single-strand
rod and bar mill for Cascade Steel Co., of McMinnville, Oregon.
The upgrade, which Morgan completed in mid-November,
consisted of a number of modifications to Cascade's reforming equipment.
According to John Foley, General Manager, Contract Administration,
"The upgrade included the design, construction, and installation
of Morgan's patented ring distributor with coil plate.
"This new equipment," he continued, "has
enabled Cascade to increase productivity and yield, as well as to
produce an improved coil package, which significantly benefits their
end users. This system also allows Cascade to supply shorter, more
uniform coils that take up less shipping and packing room."
The new coil system, which was patented by Morgan
in 1989, has been installed and commissioned in more than 80 strands
in 51 mills throughout the world.
Morgan Construction Company, is a designer and
producer of high-quality rolling mill products and services for
the metal industry worldwide.
