Product Cooling Systems:

  • Customized systems - Designed to meet your specifications.
  • Morgan Enhanced Temperature Control System - This control maximizes the effect of interstand cooling systems, thus producing consistent physical properties. The integral Enhanced Recipe System implements thermal modeling to determine setup values on product change.
  • Morgan Stelmor® Cooling Conveyor Control - An extension of the temperature control system. Automatic adjustments are made to fan speeds and cascading Stelmor® zone speeds to control the predicted transition points on the conveyor. Product change setup for Stelmor® cover positions, initial fan and conveyor speeds is incorporated in this system.
  • Fluid Lubrication and Water System Control - Fully automated or manual level 1 control with interfacing to respective starters, with run/stop/interlock protection.

Preventive and Predictive Systems:

  • Customized systems - Includes preventive, predictive and comprehensive maintenance packages to promote equipment availability, facility utilization, reduced maintenance costs, etc.
  • Morgan Vibration Monitoring System - This is a full on-line condition monitoring system. Any manufacturing equipment, from simple pumps to complex, high speed rotating apparatus can be protected with the installation of strategically located accelerometers and Morgan's on line system.
  • Lubrication Oil Water Temperature Analysis System (LOWTAS) - Continuously monitors relative humidity of lubricant to detect water ingress. Particularly aimed at preventing bearing failure.

Production, CMMS and Classification of Delay Systems:

  • Customized Systems - Built to meet your needs and expectations.
    Scheduled Maintenance System (CMMS) - Designed specifically for the manufacturing steel mill environment. This system is customized to meet the preventive and predictive objectives of any comprehensive maintenance program.
  • Alarming System - Configured with mill existing HMIs, or stand-alone systems. Key, critical signals are monitored to assure a consistent process and product. Alarm levels are configured and customized to meet the customer's objectives. Alarms can appear on HMI's, e-mail, beepers, phone messages, etc.
  • Supervisory Control System - Provides accurate, real time information to mill management. Design to track product through the mill, process and product information is collected and stored and used to generate a production, quality and performance reports.

Material and Coil Handling:

  • Customized Systems - Built to meet your needs and expectations.
    Power and Free Control (Coil Handling) - reduces reform cycle time and maintains coil shape.
  • Compactor Control - fully automated compactor control supplied with Morgan compactor - can be adapted for any compactor revamp.
  • Bar Handling Control - control of cooling beds, bar transfer tables, cold shears & gauge beams, bar bundlers and flat stackers.

Process Related Automation:

  • Customized Systems - Built to meet your needs and expectations.
  • Automatic Roll Gap Alignment System -This patented system, allows stands and passes to be changed rapidly and repeatedly with great precision. This can effectively reduce, or eliminate, the costly use of trial billets. Mill downtime is converted to productive time for a quick pay back.
  • Process Monitoring Guide - provides real time and historical trending of roll gap deflection.
  • Automatic Gauge Control - closed loop control of the product size during rolling can be achieved using gauge feedback and dynamic adjustment of roll gap.
  • Rod speed Measurement, Minimum Tension Control - Laser Doppler gauge technology measures actual product speed. This is used in the dynamic control provide consistent and minimal tension between rolling stands. Removes Operator error, increases repeatability for each product size and greatly improves Tension Control.

Automation / Systems Integration:

  • Customized Systems - Any automation system can be built designed manufactured, tested, installed and commissioned to meet your needs and expectations.
  • Laying Head and Pinch Roll Control (Front End Orientation) - This system positions the head end of laying head rings to allow smooth laying and transition of rings along a Stelmor conveyor. This system can be implemented into existing control systems or installed as a stand-alone system Descaler Control - automatic control of ON/OFF and water system pressure Bar Handling Control - control of cooling beds, bar transfer tables, cold shears & gauge beams, bar bundlers and flat stackers.
  • Reform Area Control - full automation of reform area.
  • Mill Control - proven electro/mechanical system with full local and remote control options, incorporates Morgan's mechanical know-how in gear change strategy. Applied to such mills as Morgan's No-Twist® Mill and Reducing/Sizing Mills.
  • High Speed Shear Control - automatic trimming of rings with high and repeatable accuracy. Eliminates un-cooled head & tail end rings, reducing conveyor problems and improving yield. Removal of manual cutting process increases coil processing cycles time.
